Like many from Ohio, Penn State Nittany Lions QB Drew Allar grew up idolizing the Cleveland Browns, and given the team’s current obsession with quarterbacks, he might even get drafted to the team next year. For now, he is still focusing on getting the Nittany Lions the national title, but the topic was brought up during a recent podcast appearance.
The Penn State QB appeared in the “Ross Tucker Podcast” where he revealed that his family is a big fan of the Browns. In response, Tucker asked him what would happen should the Browns draft him in 2026.
“I mean, that would definitely be special because my parents, my dad, had season tickets growing up. They’ve been passed down since my great-grandfather, so (since) great-grandfather,” he told Tucker.
“Yeah, so back in the, I think ‘50s or ‘60s is when my family first got the tickets in their name, so that would definitely be surreal just because I grew up going to every home game from the time I was 7-to-8-years old to by the time I was a freshman in college,” Drew Allar added. “No matter the weather or the record.”
Should this happen, however, he will be joining a team that has been collecting quarterbacks left and right, drafting Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round even though they already have Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, as well as their third-round pick, Dillon Gabriel. The Browns have the most unique QB situation in the NFL right now, with plenty of possibilities in the horizon.

How Possible Is It For Drew Allar to Get Drafted By The Cleveland Browns?
Currently, Cleveland has six quarterbacks on the roster, though the main four active ones battling for a spot include Shedeur Sanders, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and the projected QB1, Joe Flacco. All four have been performing well, though one of them might get shelved at the start of the season as the NFL only allows three active quarterbacks.
Should Drew Allar enter, Cleveland, which currently wants as many quarterbacks as it can get, is likely to get interested in a local boy wanting to make the team, even if they have a very tight quarterback room already. If he entered now, that may be impossible given how full their quarterback room already is, but a lot can still happen in a year.
There is a possibility that the Browns could use Pickett, Sanders or Gabriel as trade bait, freeing up some slots at QB. There is also a possibility that Joe Flacco might retire, giving the floor to Pickett, Gabriel and Sanders.
