Lane Kiffin has been among the most talked about coaches ever since big-shot head coaching jobs like the Florida, Penn State and now LSU opened up in the last two weeks.
After the Tigers faced a dissappointing 49-25 loss against Texas A&M in week 9 that sparked a fire Brian Kelly chant at the Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, LA, the program heard the chatter and took a massive call on the situation.
Kelly, who has a buyout of over $50,000,000, was then announced to be fired, again bringing Kiffin into the conversation for being the no.1 candidate to replace him.
Talking about which one is the better job for the Ole Miss head coach between Florida and LSU, Finebaum said:
“It’s a close call, but in my mind LSU is a better job,” Finebaum said on Get Up. “It just has a great infrastructure down there. As I say that I realized that they fired the last three or four coaches, but I think Lane Kiffin fits that culture pretty well. He’s familiar with it. He’s also familiar with Florida, as we said last week, but I don’t think there’s any question that of the jobs opening, LSU is going to be the one that everybody wants.” Finebaum said on Get Up.

In another interview, Finebaum told AL.com that Kelly needed to go, calling the Texas A&M game “a complete embarrassment.” and he had lost the fan base. “Ultimately, it came down to whether LSU could afford to buy him out vs. could they afford to keep him, and the answer became obvious.”

Lane Kiffin Makes Thoughts Clear on Potentially Leaving Ole Miss
As Kiffin becomes the top most lucrative head coach to lead the Gators after Florida fired Billy Napier.
During an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter, Molly McGrath shared that Kiffin talked to her about him addressing the speculation during a team meeting ahead of Saturday’s win.
McGrath shared that Kiffin said while he doesn’t usually address these kind of coaching rumors as there is so much more football to play, but he’s willing to make an exception this time and talk to his players and say that his decision is based on the wins they’ve had as a team, which is a compliment to the entire program.
