ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum often gets heat from his hot takes, and during his appearance on Netflix Sports’ Sports Club, he may have angered many fans of Big Ten teams even more. He was asked by host Dani Klupenger which team he thinks will win a national championship this year, and once again, he picks an SEC team despite Big Ten teams winning it twice in a row.
The veteran analyst revealed that he believes Arch Manning and Texas will be winning it all this year, and he hit back at Big Ten fans while saying so.
“It is (going to be an SEC team), and If it’s not I’m leaving the country. I am so sick and tired of being harassed by Big Ten fans on our show. The Big Ten has literally done nothing. They won two national championships, Michigan won one two years ago,” he said.
“I believe Texas is gonna win, I didn’t mean to avoid you question. It’s gonna end all this, and on Jan. 20th, I’ll be the happiest man in America because I won’t have to the Big Tenners or as my callers call them, the Little Tenners,” he added, hitting Big Ten fans.
“If it’s not I’m leaving the country. I am so sick and tired of being harassed by Big Ten fans on our show. … They act like they invented football.” @finebaum has had enough of Big Ten fans, and predicts that an SEC team will win the National Championship 😂 @daniklup pic.twitter.com/LNXFwU7IL3

Last season, it was Ohio State, a Big Ten team, that won the national title, beating Notre Dame in the final. A year before that, Michigan won it all, and this back-to-back wins has gotten many Big Ten fans confident that the next national champion will also be from the conference.
However, many experts believe that the usually powerhouse SEC will be the conference to produce the national championship, with many agreeing that it will be Texas that will be winning it all next season. Arch Manning is coming in with plenty of hype, and Texas has surrounded him with plenty of talent, making the Longhorns this year’s early favorite.

Paul Finebaum Gets Fact-Checked on ‘Invented Football’ Claim
In belittling the Big Ten on Netflix Sports, Paul Finebaum claimed that the conference’s fans were acting as if they invented football, saying “They act like they invented football.” This claim soon gets fact-checked by Sports Illustrated, which pointed out that it was actually a Big Ten school that did… college football anyway.
Rutgers University, which is known as “The Birthplace of College Football” is a Big Ten member and is a school responsible for helping mold the sport into what it is today. While the school itself is not an original member of the conference, the same can be said for Texas.
