Arch Manning’s hype has been one of the biggest storylines of the offseason this year. While, some fans and analysts are already projecting him to take the Heisman Trophy home, others believe it’s a bait to get more clicks.
Adding some more fuel to this conversation, college football insider Paul Finebaum shared his belief that Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks the game has seen since Tim Tebow’s time at Florida.
Considered one of the best college football players of all time, Tebow won the national championship with the Gators twice and played three finals in four years.
This statement stirred reactions from various college football analysts:
“Love you Paul but…. Lolololololololol…….” ESPN’s Louis Riddick’s wrote replying to Finebaum’s comments.
“The best college quarterback I’ve seen in that time span was Joe Burrow’s final season at LSU. If Arch is better than that…my God,” analyst Matt Miller reacted to Finebaum’s bold statement about the Texas QB.
“Making a statement like this about a kid that hasn’t even played an entire game against any real competition at the D1 level just goes to show you none of these statements need to hold actual validity. It’s all about having the most outlandish sports takes that’ll get people to argue on social media for engagement,” Su’a Kristopher Cravens also commented on the video.
“1. Saddle Arch with unfair expectations. 2. Call him a bust if/when he fails to meet your made-up expectations. 3. Profit. 4. Rinse, repeat,” Zach Barnett also expressed his views.
“Arch Manning is the best college football quarterback we have seen since Tim Tebow entered the scene in 2006.”

Paul Finebaum Weighs In on Arch Manning’s Heisman Expectations
Manning has only had a limited amount of time on the field as he waited for his chance to be the Longhorns starting quarterback for two years behind Quinn Ewers.
The Texas star started for two games last season when Ewers was out on injury, leading the Longhorns to victories in both of the games.
Despite his limited playing time, Paul Finebaum expressed his views on Manning’s Heisman Trophy chances:
“The absolute roof,” Finebaum said, via Yahoo. “I think there’s a reasonably good chance that Arch Manning will be sitting on the front row in New York at the Heisman ceremony. That’s assuming his team does what it is supposed to do and competes not only for the SEC but for the national championship.”
Texas and Arch Manning will kick off the 2025 college football season against Ohio State on Aug. 30.
