Moore has established himself as one of the nation’s elite signal-callers. He took over as Oregon’s starting quarterback this year. In eight games, he has amassed 1,772 passing yards and 19 touchdowns while completing an impressive 71.4% of his passes.
His completion percentage ranks among the best in college football, and with Patrick Mahomes taking note of Moore’s play, a lot of NFL teams might line up to sign him.
Meanwhile, Mahomes is navigating a challenging 2025 season, with the Kansas City Chiefs sitting at 5-4 after a tough loss to the Buffalo Bills. In this game, he took 15 hits and five sacks, numbers that were far from typical for someone of his caliber.
Despite the struggles, he’s thrown for 2,349 yards and 17 touchdowns while adding 285 rushing yards and four rushing scores so far this campaign.

Todd McShay Claims That Dante Moore Will Stay At Oregon Amid Draft Speculation
The timing of Mahomes’ praise is interesting, given the speculation surrounding Moore’s future. Despite projections that would likely place him as a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, multiple reports suggest that Moore plans to return to Oregon for another season.
NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay has indicated that Moore, along with his family, agent, and coaching staff, is set to stay in Eugene.
“There’s one scout I just talked to, book it, he’s gonna be back at Oregon next year,” McShay said.
“The resources, the parents, the agent, the coaches are all in lock-step on this thing. Dante Moore is going to be an Oregon Duck next year, and he’s going to be paid handsomely to be that. But he will be back,” he added.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Moore attended Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School in Detroit, where he had an outstanding high school career, passing for nearly 9,880 yards and 135 touchdowns.
Moore led his high school team to multiple state championships and was widely regarded as the top quarterback recruit in the 2023 class, committing to Oregon despite briefly attending UCLA.
