The sports world was struck by surprise news on Thursday as it was announced that pro wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan died at the age of 71. This led to an outpouring of support from the sports world, including Pat McAfee, who covers college football on the “College GameDay” broadcast and his personal show, “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Shortly after the news that Hogan had passed away, McAfee posted a tribute on X with several photos of Hogan from when he appeared at his studio. He left a simple, three-word statement for the sadly departed wrestling legend.
“Rest Easy, brother,” McAfee wrote.

Pat McAfee is known for his bombastic and unserious personality when it comes to sports. At times, this can upset some fans in the college football world, as well as fans of other sports. However, despite his big personality, he is able to secure interviews with superstars in all kinds of sports, showing the impact he has in the sporting world.
Part of the reason for this is that McAfee is able to develop positive relationships with many people across different sports. This allows him to interview people from the NBA, like LeBron James, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, and professional wrestling legends like Hulk Hogan.

What Happened to Hulk Hogan?
Hulk Hogan was found dead at his home in Florida on Thursday morning. According to a report from the Clearwater Police Department, emergency personnel responded to a medical call regarding a cardiac arrest at 9:51 a.m. on Thursday morning. He was treated at the scene but when he was brought to the local hospital, he was pronounced dead.
This news was later confirmed by Hogan’s manager, Chris Volo, who spoke with NBC Los Angeles. Despite reports about a cardiac arrest, no official cause of death has been released.
The official WWE X account also posted a tribute to one of the most legendary members of its organization.
“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
