Paige Shivers Accused Of Conspiracy By Fans As Possible Means To Avoid Sherrone Moore’s Contract Buyout After Firing

There’s a new theory regarding the Sherrone Moore scandal at the University of Michigan. Could it be that this isn’t an entirely off-the-field story, and that this was part of a bigger conspiracy to get rid of Sherrone Moore? New reports indicate that some personalities in college football at least consider this as a possibility.

The website “College Sports Only” posted the explanation of the conspiracy theory on X, and it goes as follows: “Some argue that staffer Paige Shiver might have been encouraged as a third party to approach the University of Michigan with proof of the affair she was having with the coach, as a way to have the school fire him after just two seasons and without having to pay his buyout.”

While there’s no hard proof behind this theory, it goes to show what’s the current state of the business of college football that it can be published without sounding completely implausible.

Urban Meyer on Sherrone Moore’s Scandal

Urban Meyer spoke about the Sherrone Moore scandal on Sunday’s episode of the “Triple Option Podcast,” but he didn’t want to get into the on-field effects of the decision.

The former Ohio State and Florida coach decided to go into the human aspect of the scandal and how it must have affected the Moore family.

“Last night I said a prayer for that family. I mean, you’ve got three little girls. You got a guy who was on top of the world a week ago… Rivalry’s aside, this is all human element now. This is something that, from what you read… That’s some serious stuff that went on, and all of a sudden you start seeing the impact. Forget football. Who cares about football?,” said Meyer (10:17)

Sherrone Moore had three children with her wife, Kelli Moore. All three are daughters and their names are Shiloh, Solei, and Sadie.
