Pacman Detonates Over Browns Picking Shedeur Sanders, Echoes Deion Sanders’ Past Rejection of Cleveland

The 2025 NFL Draft delivered plenty of surprises, but none were as polarizing as the Cleveland Browns’ selection of Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round. The internet is still buzzing about his unexpected slide, Donald Trump’s comments, the backlash against his father, Deion Sanders, and the 40% increase in viewership driven by all the controversy.

But now, things are settling down. The Sanders family is celebrating as both sons have signed with NFL teams.

Meanwhile, one voice stood out in opposition: former NFL star Pacman Jones. His strong comments didn’t just criticize Browns GM Andrew Berry, but also echoed Deion’s earlier doubts about the Browns being a good place for young quarterbacks.

Pacman’s Browns Tirade Mirrors Deion Sanders’ Famous Cleveland Rejection

The Cleveland Browns’ decision to draft Shedeur in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft brought mixed reactions. While many fans and analysts finally breathed a sigh of relief, it’s important to remember that there were many, but not everyone. One of the loudest critics was former NFL star Pacman Jones.

Jones didn’t hold back while blasting the decision publicly. He called out Browns General Manager Andrew Berry and questioned the team’s fit for Shedeur. “”F**k that! I don’t think he should be there. He got picked from the worst possible team that could have picked him. Andrew Berry shove it up your ass,” he said during a live broadcast, leaving no room for doubt about how he felt.

His fiery comments reopened an old conversation: Are the Browns the right team for young quarterbacks? Pacman’s criticism reminded fans of something Deion once said back in 2018.

At that time, Deion told the media that if he were a young quarterback, he’d “pull an Eli Manning” and demand a trade rather than play for Cleveland. That was the same year the Browns drafted Baker Mayfield first overall, coming off a 0–16 season.

Now, years later, that skepticism still lingers. Pacman’s harsh take suggests those doubts haven’t faded. Despite being picked in the fifth round, Shedeur thanked the team, saying, “Thank you, everybody… Thank you to the Browns organization for giving me a chance, that’s all I need.”
