The Oregon Ducks had a stellar 2024 season, winning the Big Ten Championship and remaining undefeated until the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal. They even defeated the future National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes in a regular-season matchup early in the year.
Now, with the Ducks looking ahead to next season, the team has hired a coach with NFL coaching experience to lead the wide receiver room.

Oregon Adds Former Patriots WR Coach to Staff
Not content with the results from their 2024 season, the Oregon Ducks are making additions to their coaching staff. On Thursday, the Oregon Football X account announced that they are adding Ross Douglas as the team’s next wide receivers coach.

This addition is a smart one from the Ducks, as they are bringing in one of the great young minds in coaching. After graduating from Rutgers in 2018, he became a graduate assistant at his alma mater.
He then took a job with the New England Patriots in 2021 and was promoted several times until he became the team’s wide receivers coach in 2023.
Douglas opted to leave the Patriots after the 2023 season for a job as the Syracuse Orange’s wide receivers coach. Under his leadership, the Orange had one of the best passing games in the nation. Now, Oregon is looking for the same success.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, the Oregon Ducks should be one of the best teams in college football once again. Although they lost QB Dillon Gabriel to the NFL Draft, they have an excellent replacement in Dante Moore, who transferred to Oregon from UCLA before the 2024 season.
The Ducks still have one of the deepest teams in college football and should be a threat to win the Big Ten Championship again. With Douglas helping their young QB, they should be in a good spot.
