‘Sellout’ ‘Be A Big Dog’ – Fans Split As Oregon’s D-Line Takes Another Hit with Third D-Line Decommit in Dan Lanning’s 2025 Class

The Oregon Ducks’ recruitment has taken yet another big blow, as another defensive line prospect has decommitted from the program. Three-star defensive end Viliami Moala announced he will be decommitting from the Ducks and thanked the University of Oregon for the opportunity.

Moala also announced that he will be transferring from Willamette High School in Eugene, Oregon to Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama.

This has gotten some fans talking, with some blasting the defensive end over his decision to decommit.

    “Sellout,” one fan said.

    “Bad decision,” said another fan.

“What’s going on with 0 National Championship U? 😭😭😭,” another person joked, regarding Oregon losing commits and having zero national championships.

However, there were also a lot of people shoring him support, especially as he may choose to transfer to their school Alabama and North Carolina fans were particularly loud in the comments.

“Go be great big dog,” one supporter commented.

“You’ll never be as wanted for football as you are right now. Do whatever you can to cash in right now. In two years, when you wash out of whichever university you go to, you’ll be lucky if you get a scholarship at Utah State or UTEP, and with no NIL either. Enjoy this moment,” another person said.

“Wow that’s awesome. Welcome to Alabama. It’s hot ASF right now but you’ll be aight,” added one Crimson Tide fan.

Moala is now the third defensive lineman to decommit from Oregon, as defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui flipped to USC while Bott Mulitalo flipped to BYU. This is a big blow to the Ducks’ 2026 recruitment, especially as they continue to pursue that elusive first national championship.

Oregon Still Looking At Several Big High School Targets From 2026 Class

Despite losing its third defensive line prospect, it is still not yet over for the Oregon Ducks, as the school still has its eyes set on other big recruits from the Class of 2026.

Oregon still has the chance to get the commitment of four-star Collins Hill defensive lineman Deuce Geralds from Suwanee, Georgia. He made his official visit to Eugene last month and has already listed Oregon as one of his top schools. He is known for his versatility and may be the one to replace Moala.

There is a much more prized defensive player that may possibly commit to Oregon as well, and that is St. Paul’s Five-star LB Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones. He has trimmed down his choices to his top three schools, and Oregon is one of them. The other two being Alabama and Texas A&M.
