Ole Miss Mock Draft Round Up: Where Are Jaxson Dart, Walter Nolen and Others Headed?

The Ole Miss Rebels had a solid season in 2024, finishing fourth in the Southeastern Conference standings and holding a 10-3 overall record. The Rebels had an extremely talented roster that now features arguably 10 players who could hear their name called come the 2025 NFL draft.

Who are those players — and what are we hearing regarding where they may land?

DT Walter Nolen Mock Draft Projections

    • NFL.com: Round 1, Pick 30
    • USA Today: Round 1, Pick 21

One of the best interior defensive linemen in the draft, Nolen projects with a ceiling of late teens and with a floor of just outside the first round. The sweet spot for him would be in the mid-to-late 20s, where contending teams always need more guys in the middle who can stonewall blocks while having the ability to rush the passer, which Nolen does exceptionally well.

EDGE Princely Umanmielen Mock Draft Projections

    • USA Today: Round 1, Pick 32
    • Pro Football Network: Round 2, Pick 44

Although Umanmielen is an immensely talented player, recording 10.5 sacks in 2024, he hasn’t been able to establish himself among the top-tier of edge rushers. Despite that, he still could sneak into the end of the first round with solid footing as a mid-second round pick.

QB Jaxson Dart Mock Draft Projections

    • Sports Illustrated: Round 1, Pick 21
    • ESPN: Round 1, Pick 26

Quarterbacks frequently end up going earlier than their draft grades may suggest and Dart is a perfect illustration of that. The dire need of several teams for a young signal-caller may be just enough for Dart to be selected on the first night of the draft. If not, he will almost assuredly be taken early in the second round.

CB Trey Amos Mock Draft Projections

    • ESPN: Round 2, Pick 44
    • 33rd Team: Round 1, Pick 30

Amos has been arguably the biggest riser — alongside Dart — in the entire draft class, as he was projected as a mid-to-late Day 2 pick following the season. But after performing well at the combine and further impressing scouts and analysts with his tape from the season, Amos stands as a player who could sneak into the back end of the first round with a solid floor of mid-second round.

WR Tre Harris Mock Draft Projections

    • 33rd Team: Round 3
    • NBC Sports: Round 4

Harris is a polarizing prospect, as he spent five seasons at the college level and produced exceptionally well in his final two with the Rebels. But as an older player, his potential is seen as limited to him being a depth receiver. For those reasons, he’s being considered in the mid-rounds with a ceiling on third round and floor of fourth or fifth.

EDGE Jared Ivey Mock Draft Projections

    • NFL Draft Buzz: Round 3
    • Bleacher Report: Round 3

Ivey has settled in a second-tier pass rusher in the draft, as he projects to be a solid rotational player at the next level while not possessing the same type of talent and potential that the bigger names above him do. Despite that, he should still hear his name called sometime on Day 2.

LB Chris Paul Jr. Mock Draft Projections

    • NFL Draft Buzz: Round 3
    • Sports Illustrated: Round 3

Paul is in a similar position as Ivey as accomplished college players who don’t have the sort of athleticism and overall talent to be considered with the top-tier players at their position. He projects at a similar spot, with third round being the consensus.

DT JJ Pegues Mock Draft Projections

    • NFL Draft Buzz: Round 6
    • 33rd Team: Round 5

Pegues projects as a late round pick who would serve best as a rotational stalwart in the middle. He was a terrific player for the Rebels and will be selected in the later rounds with a chance to develop into a contributor on the interior.

WR Antwane Wells Jr. Mock Draft Projections

    • NFL Draft Buzz: Round 6
    • Big Blue View: Round 5

After a strong start to his career, Wells turned in a rather disappointing season with the Rebels in 2024. He’s a late round pick at best with a possible chance of going undrafted.
