The job of a parent is never easy, and Ole Miss’ head coach Lane Kiffin knows it. Youngsters can be difficult to handle, especially during their teenage years and early 20s. However, the Rebels coach doesn’t despair about it, and he’s even able to crack a joke from time to time at the expense of his offspring, in a harmless way, of course.
That’s exactly what Kiffin did with his daughter, 20-year-old Landry Kiffin, on Sunday. The coach reshared a post with the following commentary to his Instagram story:
“My daughter is not delicate like a flower… She’s more delicate like a hand grenade.”
It seems that Landry Kiffin is the kind of person who should come with a “thread with care” sticker, a common warning among teenagers. If anything, we can conclude that this allows Lane Kiffin to practice the difficult task of dealing with young adults. Something so intrinsic to his job as a college football coach.
Lane Kiffin shares pictures of Knox Kiffin at Alabama’s football camp
Lane Kiffin’s youngest son, Knox Kiffin, is a quarterback prospect set to be part of the class of 2028. As such, he attended the Alabama football camp this past weekend, and his father shared photos of him at the event through his X account.
One of the pictures showed Knox sharing with Alabama’s frontrunner for the starting quarterback position this season, Ty Simpson.

While some can find it interesting that the Ole Miss coach would allow his son to attend the training camp of a rival SEC program, Kiffin has ties in Tuscaloosa. He served there as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator between 2014 and 2016. Under Nick Saban, he revived his coaching career after the fiasco of his tenure at USC.
Knox Kiffin’s recruiting process is in its infancy. He’s still three years away from joining the game at the NCAA level; however, he has already received offers from SMU, Arkansas State, FIU, East Carolina, and Georgia State. Knox is a 6’2” and 170-pound signal-caller who plays for Oxford High School in Mississippi.
He previously played for Palos Verdes High School in California, but moved to Mississippi to be closer to his father and ostensibly to be closer to SEC programs that could be interested in getting his services when he becomes recruitable.
