The Ole Miss Rebels saw the departure of star quarterback Jaxson Dart this offseason as he declared for the NFL Draft, and was selected in the first round by the New York Giants. Dart was key to the Rebels’ success in 2024, throwing for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Replacing that kind of production won’t be easy for the Rebels, but here are some of the guys Ole Miss can look to as their starter in 2025.

What Does the Ole Miss QB Room Look Like Ahead of the 2025 College Football Season?
Austin Simmons (RS Sophomore)
Austin Simmons is the only quarterback on the Ole Miss roster who has been in Lane Kiffin’s system for an extended period of time. Simmons is a former three-star recruit who redshirted his freshman year and got to learn under Dart for the last two years.
In 2024, Simmons had limited playing time but threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns on just 32 passes. With the experience he has under Kiffin and the development he has shown in his time at Ole Miss, I expect him to be the starter come 2025.
Trinidad Chambliss (Junior)
Trinidad Chambliss transferred to Ole Miss as a three-star recruit in April 2025. He previously played at the Division II level with the Ferris State Bulldogs.
While I don’t expect him to start, he was very good for the Bulldogs last season, throwing for 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns and running for an additional 1,019 yards and 25 touchdowns. If anywhere near that sort of production can transfer over to the SEC, he could be a big-time weapon for Ole Miss.
AJ Maddox (RS Freshman)
AJ Maddox is a former three-star recruit from Ole Miss’s 2024 recruiting class. He was redshirted last season as a freshman and did not see any playing time for the Rebels.

While he probably won’t start, he showed some promise for the Rebels in spring ball and could potentially be an option if Chambliss or Simmons go down with an injury.
