The Ole Miss Rebels established themselves as a threat for the Southeastern Conference West Division title once HC Lane Kiffin got lured to Oxford. Unfortunately, Kiffin’s old coaching boss, Nick Saban, and the Alabama Crimson Tide continued to dominate that part of the SEC.
Now, new challenges await with Texas and Oklahoma officially joining the SEC effective next season. Are both going to be on the slate for the Rebels? Take a look at the Ole Miss 2024 schedule to find out.

Ole Miss only gets one of the new SEC members on its schedule — Oklahoma. The Sooners will head to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in their first season as a full-fledged SEC member. Surprisingly, these two teams have only met once before being in the same conference. The Rebels won the 1999 meeting 27-25.
As for the non-conference slate, Wake Forest represents the only Power Five challenger. Like the Rebels, the Demon Deacons will take on a completely revamped Atlantic Coast Conference with Cal and Stanford giving the ACC West Coast representation and SMU looking to stand up for Texas.

Interestingly, past West Division members Texas A&M, Auburn, and even Alabama are missing from the Rebels’ schedule. This is an indicator that Ole Miss will be in a separate division, as the SEC aims to go towards a four-team division model. It’ll mark the first time since 1990 that the Crimson Tide and the Rebels won’t play each other in the regular season.
Even with the drastic changes in the conference, the Egg Bowl between Ole Miss and Mississippi State will remain. That game is still slated for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
For the first time since 1991, the SEC will not feature divisions in the conference. The top two teams will square off at the end of the year in the SEC Championship Game to culminate the season. With Oklahoma and Texas in the conference this season, the 2024 campaign truly means more.
