Fresh off their national championship victory, the Ohio State Buckeyes aren’t resting on their laurels. Their recruiting machine continues to roll with impressive momentum, adding blue-chip talent to an already stacked 2025 class that currently ranks third nationally.
The Buckeyes recently secured a commitment from highly-touted 2026 wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, proving that Ryan Day’s program continues to be a destination for elite offensive talent. With official visits ramping up and several five-star prospects leaning toward Columbus, Ohio State has positioned itself for a potential run at the nation’s top recruiting class.

Buckeyes Strengthen Top-3 Class — Why These Commitments Could Shift the Recruiting Rankings
Brian Hartline’s reputation for developing NFL-ready receivers continues to pay dividends on the recruiting trail.
As noted in recent recruiting coverage, “never a doubt with coach Brian Hartline and his recruiting prowess because of the way that he builds meaningful relationships with his top targets, but then the way that he prepares his receivers to not only be drafted high, but then be successful in the NFL.”
The Buckeyes’ current 2025 class features 26 signees, their largest class in five years, with 21 rated as four or five-star prospects. The group is headlined by two top-10 recruits, quarterback Tavien St. Clair and cornerback Devin Sanchez, providing elite talent on both sides of the ball.
Looking ahead to summer visits, Ohio State is in a prime position with several top-ranked uncommitted prospects.
Five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo ranks as a priority target, with one analyst noting “I know the On3 RPM favors Texas, but it seems like every cycle Ohio State goes into the lone star state and lands an elite player or two, and Felix Ojo is target numero uno from Texas for Ohio State this cycle.”
They could also receive a significant boost with five-star safety Bralan Womack, who reportedly has Ohio State as his frontrunner. Additionally, the Buckeyes are battling for elite defensive lineman PJ Dean, though they face stiff competition from Georgia, where Dean’s brother currently plays.
In-state targets remain a priority with top-100 linebacker Cincere Johnson and running back Favour Akih both trending toward the Buckeyes. Regarding Akih, recruiting analysts have noted he’s “taking his official visit the first weekend of June” and is on “commit watch” for that visit.
The running backboard remains intriguing, with Ohio State pursuing multiple elite options. “Savion Hiter, he’s the number one running back in the country. Visited Ohio State in the spring, saw a spring practice, got around coach Locklyn and the staff. That was a big visit. They’re batting Michigan, Georgia, and Tennessee, but they’re certainly in the mix there.”
With official visit season kicking off in late May and running through June, the Buckeyes are expected to host over 50 top prospects.
Key names include the nation’s top running back, Savon Hiter, and top wide receiver, Jabari Mack, visiting the weekend of May 30, followed by five-star WR Chris Henry Jr. on June 20.
