‘Coach Day Is the Best Coach in the Nation’ – Ohio State WR Makes Eye-Catching Statement for Head Coach Before Cotton Bowl Showdown

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Brandon Inniss has high praise for his head coach Ryan Day ahead of the Cotton Bowl showdown.

Earlier in the week, Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Brandon Inniss had high praise for his head coach, Ryan Day. In an interview, Inniss explained his belief that Day was the best coach in all of college football. While Day has been at the forefront of criticism at times this season, there is no doubting the success the Buckeyes have had as of late.

At this time, the Buckeyes are one of the final four teams remaining in the College Football Playoff and have the chance to win this year’s National Championship in the coming weeks.

What Did Brandon Inniss Say About Coach Day?

Inniss explained how he believed Day was the best coach in the nation and added how appreciative he was personally for Day bringing him to Ohio State.

“Coach Day is the best coach in the nation. We come in here and see the work he puts in. To have a guy like that, you want to play for him. Coach Day is like no other coach I’ve had in my life. I appreciate him for the opportunity to come here,” he outlined.

Ohio State Buckeyes Cotton Bowl Preview

Inniss, Day, and the Buckeyes program will face off against the Texas Longhorns in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10, 2025. The contest will be played from the iconic AT&T Stadium, home of the Jerry Jones-owned Dallas Cowboys. As a result, the game being played so close to the home of the Longhorns does potentially present another challenge for Day and the Buckeyes.

However, as of late, Ohio State has been performing in all areas of the game. In the first round of the CFP, the Buckeyes (No. 8 seed) defeated the Tennessee Volunteers (No. 9 seed) 42-17 in dominant fashion.

More recently in the quarterfinal matchup against the No. 1 seed Oregon Ducks, the Buckeyes once again easily took care of business in a 41-21 winning effort with the game never really in doubt.

While this is not to say the matchup against the Longhorns will be easy, it outlines how the Buckeyes are one of the most talented teams in college football. The winner of the game between the Buckeyes and Longhorns will face the winner of the Penn State Nittany Lions and Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the CFP final.

For Inniss personally, he has 13 receptions on the campaign, totalling 157 yards and one touchdown.
