‘Misread the Bracket’ – Ohio State Fans End Up at the Orange Bowl Instead of Cotton Bowl in Hilarious Mix-Up

Two Ohio State Buckeyes fans hit the road to watch their team in the College Football Playoff, but they landed in the wrong place in a crazy mixup.

Two fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes made arrangements to be at the Orange Bowl in Miami to watch their beloved team play for a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship. There is one major problem. The Buckeyes are in Dallas playing the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl.

Buckeyes Fans Misread Bracket, Showed Up in Miami by Mistake

This is not an indictment on Buckeye fans, but the College Football Playoff bracket is not difficult to read.

It has been well-established and well-documented that the Orange Bowl was going to feature the Penn State Nittany Lions versus the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Cotton Bowl in Dallas is playing host to the Buckeyes, who will take on the Longhorns.

The good thing for these Ohio State fans is they get to see a great football game between two really good teams. The bad part, is that their school is not playing in it.

Well, at least it has a Big Ten school in it.

According to PennLive reporter Johnny McGonigal, he was on the same elevator as a few Ohio State fans, which he thought seemed slightly off.

He asked them a few questions and was stunned to hear how these people ended up in Miami.

“Just ran into Ohio State fans in the hotel elevator,” McGonigal wrote on social media. “They misread the bracket and thought Ohio State would be playing in the Orange Bowl. They’ll be at Penn State-Notre Dame tonight.

“For those wondering, they looked like students. Said they ‘misread the bracket.’ Didn’t say if they literally misread and booked or misread how it would play out, thinking OSU would play in the Orange Bowl, and booked weeks ago. Funny either way and stunned they didn’t sell.”

They might not be able to see their team play in the Orange Bowl, but they did get to spend the week at the beach, which is better than the snow projected for Dallas.
