Ohio State was featured on the EA Sports cover via the team’s wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Ohio State’s win against Notre Dame in Atlanta by an 11-point margin secured the Buckeyes their first College Football Playoff National Championship in 11 years.

Why Is Jeremiah Smith Deserving of the Feature?
Smith’s feature on the sports cover is not coincidental. Aside from his contribution to the Buckeyes’ championship win, he was the top-ranked recruit in the 2024 recruiting class, the highest-rated wide receiver in high school recruiting history, and the 9th highest-rated recruit of all time.
Even as a freshman, Smith earned Big Ten Receiver of the Year in 2024, First Team All-Big Ten, and Rose Bowl Offensive MVP awards, among others. In just a year with the Buckeyes, Smith has proven to be an outstanding player.
With players like Smith and running back Quinshon Judkins, as well as the team’s dominance last season—even in the face of competitive games and great players from teams like Oregon and Notre Dame—Ohio State’s players are deserving of recognition such as this.

Ohio State also has a 93 overall rating in the College Football 25 ranking, showing that they are a strong team.
In an interview, Judkins expressed how he feels about being on the cover of the EA Sports game.
“It means a lot just being selected as a cover athlete,” Judkins said. “Growing up, it’s been a dream of mine as a kid. So just to be able to be here right now in California is a blessing for sure. Just to be around a great group of people, all legends, great coaches, just to be here, to interact with these guys is a blessing, for sure.”
Smith is undoubtedly excited about being on the EA cover and feels honored and privileged to have such an opportunity.
Fans’ Response to the Buckeyes’ Spotlights
In response to Smith’s feature alongside Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams, who also plays the wide receiver position, fans have had a number of reactions.
“The hardest cover ever, this beats last year’s by 1000,” one person commented.
“A Star on the Cover and the Field,” another said.
“My GOAT Jeremiah Smith,” another fan wrote.
