Buckeyes Celebrate as Three Team Stars Grace EA Sports Cover

Ohio State football has once again cemented its place among the elite, as three Buckeyes—wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, safety Caleb Downs, and head coach Ryan Day—have been featured on the Deluxe Cover of EA SPORTS College Football 26.

What makes the occasion even more special is that they are the only school with three players on the cover. This honor shows how dominant the Buckeyes are. And as defending champions, this spotlight feels less like a surprise and more like a well-earned badge of honor.

To mark this achievement, Ohio State shared a bold five-word message on Instagram: “If Aura was a photo.” They said it all by capturing the Buckeyes’ winning spirit and their unshakable presence in college football.

The spotlight on these three is no surprise. Jeremiah Smith, also on the Standard Edition cover, made history as the first Ohio State athlete to lead an EA SPORTS cover. His amazing freshman season in 2024 broke several school records and earned him the Big Ten Receiver of the Year.

Then there’s Downs—one of the top defenders in the nation. And of course, Coach Day has led the program to incredible heights. Under his leadership, the Buckeyes hold a 70-10 record and a recent national title.

Ohio State fans joined the celebration by sharing their excitement online. On Instagram, one user proudly said, “It’s only right that the cover is filled with the national champs 👏.” Another Buckeyes fan added a clever twist, writing, “Teacher asked me to define aura. I showed her this.”

The compliments kept coming, with one fan simply calling it an “aura overload.”

Still, not everyone stayed on topic. Some fans started asking for a special edition of the game just for Ohio State, given their championship status. Amid the buzz, a Nick Saban supporter popped up in the comments and wrote, “It blows my mind why haven’t they gave Saban his own cover yet.”
