The Ohio State Buckeyes will have a busy season, beginning with their showdown against Texas on August 30. The Longhorns and the Buckeyes have a split history (2-2), so both teams will be looking to change that.

Their first-ever matchup in 2005 ended in heartbreak for the Buckeyes (a 22-25 loss), but they got revenge a year later with a 24-7 win. Their last showdown, a 2025 College Football Playoff game, saw Ohio State take the win 28-14. But whether they can keep up the win streak remains to be seen.

The real challenge, however, is in November. In November, Ohio State takes on Penn State at home and then plays a tricky road game at Purdue. They wrap up the month with three massive matchups. And they all are big names. The Game against Michigan in Ann Arbor on November 29 is the most coveted of them all.

That matchup is nothing short of war. The Buckeyes have had a rough run in recent years, losing four straight to the Wolverines. This includes the 10-13 loss in Columbus last season. While historically, Ohio State holds the upper hand in home games (11-4-1), winning in Ann Arbor has always been a battle (8-11).

As the Buckeye Nation knows, some of the best moments in college football have come from this rivalry. Remember the Ohio State’s 42-7 win in 2008? And let’s not forget the 42-41 win in 2013. Who will win this time? That answer is still up in the air.
