Analysts Put Mississippi Government Official On Blast For ‘Making Lane Kiffin Feel Ungrateful’ Amid NFL Head Coaching Rumors

Lane Kiffin has been under the spotlight in the past few weeks as many college football programs eye the Ole Miss head coach to lead their team.

Florida and LSU are the two teams that are aggressively pursuing Kiffin to replace Billy Napier and Brian Kelly after their firings.

After the Rebels secured a thrilling win over the Gators this week, Kiffin was asked about about his plans to come back and coach the team again in the 2026 college football season.

Kiffin responded cryptically to the question and said that they had a good night on Saturday and that it’s disrespectful to talk about his potential exit from the program.

Reacting to this, Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson, took a jab at the Ole Miss coach for not ending the conversation bluntly, which sparked criticism from Blake Ruffino and Joe DeLeone:

“Why would you say something like that? Kiffin is like one of the most vindictive coaches out there. Why would you make a public statement like that to make it feel like he’s ungrateful? Like I’m just blown away by the the way that things have been framed by those connected to Old Miss. They’re going to scare him away and and they’re going to regret it in a month.” Joe DeLeone said.

“You don’t have the resources and facilities that Florida does. You don’t have the alumni base that LSU or Florida does.
Those two jobs historically are more attractive than yours. You have a stadium that holds 65,000 people.
Florida and Benh Hill Griffin Stadium, the tradition and Heismans and everything that you can get there along with LSU hit differently. ” Blake Ruffino added.

Paul Finebaum Shares Honest Thoughts on Lane Kiffin’s Potential Next Destination

During a recent appearance on The Matt Barrie Show”, Paul Finebaum talked about the rumors surrounding Lane Kiffin and him potentially leaving Ole Miss for another SEC program.

The college football analyst weighed in on both Ole Miss and Florida as programs and said the former hasn’t played at the highest level in the recent times and the latter is an on and off team that does good one week and not so great in the next.

Finebaum said that Kiffin is going to have a difficult time the next couple of weeks dealing with the rumors as everything seems to be pointing towards Florida.

“Because everything seems to be pointing toward Florida. It appears the governor did a good job of taking Lane Kiffin out of the LSU situation. Now, how does he deal with it?.” Finebaum questioned.

Ole Miss who are currently sitting on a 10-1 overall record will play the Mississippi State in on November 28th
