A controversial no-call from the first quarter of the game between Ohio State and Illinois is doing rounds on the internet.
As seen in a clip shared by FOX College Football, Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer threw a deep pass to a receiver on the left sidelines but it was left incomplete. However, upon closer look at the video, an Ohio State defender seems to be holding the receiver as he ran, leading to incomplete pass. However, referees didn’t call any pass-interference on it.

The no-call left fans fuming with some saying the officials are in Ohio State’s pockets.
“@B1Gfootball fix is in at Illinois. Grabbing the front and back of the jersey and no DPI? Guess the refs have money on OSU,” one fan wrote.
“That is an OUTRAGEOUS no call on clear DPI in the Illinois OSU game,” another fan added.
“If that’s not DPI in the Illinois game, then nothing is. That Ohio St DB had both hands full of jersey,” one fan posted.
#illini OL is off to a pretty good start so far. Illinois and the whole crowd wanted a DPI on that deep ball to Justin Bowick, and I don’t blame them,” one fan said.
Fans continued to react claiming it was an obvious call that officials missed.
“Most obvious pass interference,” a fan wrote.
“I’ve never understood why DBs do this shit. Bro committed a pass interference and thinks he did some shit. The ball could be overthrown by 30 yards and the DB acts like they just won the game,” one fan called out the celebration made by Buckeyes DE.

Ohio State looking to extend its unbeaten start vs Illinois
The Ohio State Buckeyes are the defending champions and they have started the season like one. Entering the Week 7 matchup vs Illinois, they are perfect (5-0) so far. And by tonight, they are hoping to extend that record to 6-0. Ryan Day’s team secured a dominant 42-3 victory over Minnesota before this game.
Meanwhile, the Illinois Fighting Illini (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) enters the game with momentum after defeating Purdue 43-27. Quarterback Luke Altmyer has been efficient this season, completing 73.6% of his passes with 12 touchdowns and no interceptions.
It remains to be seen who emerges a winner out of this one.
