After firing James Franklin as head coach over three straight losses, Penn State is now looking for a new head coach, and one name popping up in the conversation is retired former Alabama coach Nick Saban. During his appearance on the “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, Saban noted that Penn State wants somebody with a winning record. This sparked rumors that he wants the job as he is what he says Penn State is looking for.
The next day, however, Miss Terry, Nick Saban’s wife, appeared on ESPN’s “College Game Day” and spoke with host Pat McAfee regarding the rumors that her husband wants to come out of retirement. She immediately shut down those rumors and says her husband is not coming out of retirement.
“Look Pat, I have no doubt if Nick wanted to go back to coaching, he could win his eighth national championship,” she told McAfee. “But we’re having too much fun, and we wouldn’t want to take that opportunity away from all of our baby coaches, like Kirby and Lane. I haven’t heard a number yet, Pat.”
This soon had Nick Saban himself commenting on what his wife said just moments before:
“Mrs. Always Right has spoken,” Saban said.
Penn State has A LOT of funds..
Let’s ask Miss Terry…
If Penn State offers Coach Saban $50M a year is he going to coach at Happy Valley..
It sounds like that’s not enough money 😂😂#CollegeGameDay pic.twitter.com/PKBR2kd0si

Another reason that Saban is one of the rumored Penn State coaching candidates is Fox Sports’ Joe Klatt, who noted in his own show that the school should reach out to the “GOAT” and this sparked talks of Saban coming out of retirement once again.

Former Alabama Star Also Shoots Down Rumors That Nick Saban Will Coach Penn State
While fans are excited at the prospect of Nick Saban coming out of retirement and coaching Penn State, people who actually know him, including his wife, Miss Terry, are saying no. His former players are also saying that this is unlikely, including former Alabama football star Mark Ingram.
Ingram, who played under Saban at Alabama, noted that the former coach is now happy with his retirement life and is willing to bet that he is not coming out of retirement at all. He added that the new NIL and transfer portal era “made him kind of leave” Alabama.
