$70M Worth Nick Saban Labels Ohio State Fans ‘Psychotic’ Ahead of ‘The Game’ Against Michigan in Rivalry Week

Nick Saban recently asked Ohio State fans to visit a doctor regarding their obsession with beating Michigan.

It’s that time of the year when the biggest rivalries in college football take center stage and Ohio State vs Michigan is one of them. This matchup is going to drive fans even crazier given the team’s recent history.

However, the former Alabama legendary coach, who is worth $70 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), can’t believe the behavior of some Ohio State fans who’d rather lose the national championship than lose against Michigan. In his recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Saban took a dig at the Buckeyes fans who are not able to get what’s more important.

“These Ohio State fans, they’re psychotic about this, man,” Saban said. “They all need to go see a doctor someplace. I’d rather win the national championship than beat Michigan. That’s just me, all right? Although I’d love to beat Michigan, don’t get me wrong.”

Being the winner of seven national titles, it’s understandable why Saban said what he said. But Ohio State’s obsession has really heightened over the years, and that’s because their poor record against the team from Ann Arbor, even though they have been getting results elsewhere.

Nick Saban’s Advice For Ohio State Players Ahead Of Michigan Clash

During his appearance on the show, Nick Saban was also asked to advise the players of the Ohio State Buckeyes on how not to let the outside noise affect their game. He referenced his own experience on how he would have dealt with the situation personally.

“I try to minimize the noise, knowing that the players are hearing all these things,” Saban said. “So what I wanted our players to do was think that it’s going to be about what we do. So let’s focus on what we have to do to go execute and play our best football in the game, and things will take care of themselves.”

Saban then also point out the quality that is more important when the matchup is on the road. He added:

“But I think when you play in these games, especially on the road — which Ohio State’s going to do and Alabama’s going to do — you have to have resiliency. Because it’s going to be difficult to play on the road, but that difficulty is what creates an opportunity to have a great win. So if you focus on the right things and look at it as an opportunity.”

The game is of utmost importance to Ohio State since they have been losing this contest for the past four years. Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day, who already delivered the national championship last year, would like to take a win here as well.
