7-Time National Champion Nick Saban Offers Blunt Advice for Ohio State Fans

Alabama icon Nick Saban offered words of advice to Ohio State Buckeyes fans, urging them to keep their eyes on the CFP rather than on Michigan.

Ohio State Buckeyes have one of the most passionate fan bases in college football, and when they have the Michigan Wolverines on the opposite side, things get out of control. Wild scenes like storming the field and fighting each other in the stands have become a staple.

Nick Saban, who is known for enforcing insane discipline and character, claims this poor attitude of fans has cost the team big time.

Nick Saban Issues Blunt Remarks About Ohio State Fans

The seven-time national champion and Alabama legend Saban was critical about the Buckeyes’ natty chances during Friday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.” He spoke about various subjects, including the team’s performance, Ryan Day’s approach, and most prominently, its wild fanbase.

Saban wants Columbus, Ohio, to calm down and steer away from Michigan fever while focusing on the bigger picture of the national championship.

“You know, we’ve kind of gotten on their, sort of, fans a little bit. But, you know, these Ohio State fans? You know, they’ve got a psychotic obsession with Michigan, and they need to go get therapy or something to try to get it fixed,” Saban said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“They have a chance to win the national championship, and here you are, you know, and nobody’s excited about their opportunity to play because they, you know, lost to Michigan, which was a tough game, and they lost the game, probably, by some of the mistakes that they made. Those are correctable things,” he added.

Ohio State in the Second Round of CFP After Tennessee Win

Ever since the 2024 season began, expectations were high from Day and the team. However, they jittered a bit in the middle of the campaign and wrapped up the regular season with a 10-2 record. The program made it to the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoffs field and played Tennessee in the first round.

As expected, the Buckeyes crushed the Volunteers 42-17 at home and punched a ticket to the Rose Bowl matchup against the Oregon Ducks on Jan. 1, 2025. It will definitely put fans on the edge of their seats, and the Buckeyes have the opportunity to continue their run for the national championship to end a 10-year drought.
