Most college football coaches use the offseason as an opportunity to rest before refocusing on recruiting, studying film, and preparing for spring. But for legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban, one day stands out from the rest of the calendar.
It’s not game day in Tuscaloosa, national signing day, or another national title celebration. It’s a bright day in springtime, filled with golf, charity events, and the support of his wife, Ms. Terry Saban. Welcome to the Nick’s Kids Foundation Golf Tournament—what Saban calls his “favorite day of the year.”

A Day of Golf and Giving Back
Each year, the Nick’s Kids Foundation, a charity founded by Nick and Terry Saban, hosts an annual fundraising golf tournament. More than just a day for golf, this event highlights generosity, the importance of community, and why contributing matters. Proceeds from the tournament support children’s charities, educational organizations, and other good causes.
The tournament was especially notable this year, with the foundation calling it their “most successful fundraiser to date.” Pictures from the event display Ms. Terry posing with Big Al, the Crimson Tide mascot, and Coach Saban meeting with members of the audience, reflecting how much the family enjoys taking part in their good deeds.

On its social media platforms, the organization posted warm messages to say thanks to donors and volunteers for their ongoing help and to highlight the good their generosity is doing each day.
The Driving Force of the Foundation
Although Nick Saban leads their football coalition, Ms. Terry Saban’s efforts keep the philanthropic projects moving. She is responsible for guiding and organizing the foundation’s projects, ensuring it’s charitable work continues to impact numerous children and families.
Her hard work for the foundation has impressed people around the state and beyond.
Now that Nick Saban has retired, he can focus more on things he enjoys apart from football—spending time with his family, playing golf and supporting good causes.
