Lane Kiffin continues to remain the hottest asset in college football as far as head coaches are concerned.
The current Ole Miss head coach is wanted by a lot of programs in order to fill their head coaching vacancies, with Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss in the news for the past week or so.
However, after reportedly turning down Florida’s job offer, Kiffin is now at the crossroads of deciding to either continue with Ole Miss with a contract extension or go after the high-profile LSU gig to fill in Brian Kelly’s shoes in Louisiana.
Reacting to the entire topsy-turvy head coach scenario, the former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach, Nick Saban, said his piece on what he thinks could be Kiffin’s next steps.
Saban, the $70 million worth former head coach, whilst talking about Kiffin’s potential next destination, explained that Kiffin’s decision to choose his next program will essentially come down to the place that will allow him to recruit and sign the best players.

“I think Lane’s decision is going to come down to one thing: where is the place that I can recruit the best players?”, Saban stated.
Saban further highlighted that Kiffin’s reluctance to stay with Ole Miss could be because of how he’s had to use the transfer portal every season at the Rebels.

LSU Confident of Kiffin Accepting $100 Million Contract
With both Ole Miss and LSU Tigers vying for Kiffin’s signature, it’s fair to assume that both teams will have to bring out big paychecks to get hold of Kiffin.
Speaking of hefty paychecks, the LSU Tigers have reportedly prepared a massive 7-year, $100 million contract that they think should meet Kiffin’s demands.
FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman, after speaking with LSU sources, explained the general sentiment in the Tigers’ camp as far as Kiffin’s signing is concerned.
Feldman reported that his sources suggest that LSU are confident of Kiffin accepting their proposal.
“I talked to LSU sources this morning, and they are very confident that Lane Kiffin is going to come to Baton Rouge and accept this job”, Feldman reported.

If Kiffin accepts LSU’s offer, it will officially mark an end to their hunt for a head coach after firing Brian Kelly earlier this season with a dismal 5-3 start to the Tigers’ campaign.
Kiffin’s current salary as Ole Miss’s head coach is $9 million with a $7.2 million guaranteed component. His current salary makes him the joint sixth-highest paid coach in the SEC.
