Nick Saban Sends Blunt Advice to Lane Kiffin Amid LSU-Florida Head Coaching Rumors

Lane Kiffin’s name is one of the hottest names in the college football world currently, as he tops the list to be the next head coach of two big-shot programs in LSU and Florida, while Ole Miss is also fighting for him to stay.

While some believe it’s best for Kiffin to stay in Oxford and continue building his own legacy there, others believe he will have better chances of winning national championships if he ends up joining either of the teams that are interested in hiring him.

Talking about whether LSU and Florida are good fits for Kiffin, Ex Alabama head coach, Nick Saban said:

“Jobs that weren’t great jobs before are now,” Saban told Chris Low on On3. “Lane is the first name up for Florida and the first name up for LSU, but I think you can have a long debate on whether either one of those jobs is actually better than the job he has now because he has some guys over there at Ole Miss that give him pretty much whatever he wants from a roster standpoint.”

“Maybe you’ve got alumni who are passionate about football, but are they willing to invest what you have to invest now to win? Because a lot of people don’t believe in this s—,” Saban added.

“That’s changed dramatically, the whole question of what constitutes the best job,” Saban told On3. “What used to make a job great was facilities, fan support, good academic support, recruiting base and being able to create value for the players. Now that has been minimized to how much money do you have to spend on building a roster. That is the most important thing by far.”

Paul Finebaum Picks the Ideal Destination for Lane Kiffin Amid Coaching Rumors

During an appearance on “Get Up”, Paul Finebaum declared the choice between LSU and Florida a “close call.”

However, Finebaum made his thoughts clear on which program he thinks Kiffin is a better fit for and chose LSU.

He shared that while he realizes the program has fired the last 3-4 coaches they hired, he praised their infrastructure and said that Kiffin fits the culture at LSU pretty well.

Finebaum further added that Kiffin also fits Florida very well; however, if there has to be a choice between the two, it has to be the Tigers.
