The Miami Dolphins bye week came at a crucial moment in their season. Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson have taken very different paths to get here, but both quarterbacks have faced pressure as Miami tries to steady itself after an up-and-down start.
The Dolphins’ offense has shown flashes of explosiveness, but injuries and inconsistencies have kept them from realizing their full potential. A break in the schedule arrived at the right time.
With the week off, several Dolphins players stepped away to reset. Wilson’s wife, Nicolette, shared a vacation photo dump on Instagram, showing scenes from a short getaway with the partners of Miami’s players.
She traveled with Brooke Miranda, the fiancée of linebacker Quinton Bell, and with Tua’s wife, Anna, as well. The group spent time relaxing after the long grind of the first half of the season. In one of the pictures, Nicolette is seen wearing a black polka-dot bikini while standing on a wooden boardwalk in warm sunlight.
“Weekend well spent,” she captioned the post.
Other pictures from the trip showed moments on a yacht, walks along the beach, and quiet time near the ocean. Amid a hectic NFL schedule, the bye week vacation offered a small break from the heavy spotlight the Dolphins have been under.

For Wilson, the bye week is a chance to settle further into his role behind Tua. He joined Miami to rebuild his career after stops with the Jets and Broncos. Tua, meanwhile, continues to lead the offense but has faced questions about execution and consistency as the team tries to recover from a slow start.
Both quarterbacks now look ahead to the second half with the hope that the break helps reset the locker room.
Tua Tagovailoa Apologized to Dolphins Teammates
Tua entered the bye week carrying more than just competitive frustration. Weeks earlier, he had made comments about team accountability after another difficult loss. His remarks pointed to issues with attendance and seriousness around player-led meetings.
The message was meant to push the team forward, but it created noise around the organization instead.
“I think it starts with the leadership and helping articulate that for the guys and then what we’re expecting out of the guys,” he SAID. “We have guys showing up to players-only meetings late, guys not showing up to players-only meetings.”
Tua Tagovailoa tells reporters that Dolphins players have been late and/or skipping players-only meetings in recent weeks.

The noise led Tua to address the situation directly with teammates. As the week went on, he stepped in front to clarify his intentions. He said he should have handled everything privately. He acknowledged that his earlier comments added to the outside attention already surrounding the Dolphins.
“I’ve made a mistake, and I’m owning up to that right now,” Tua said. “I’ve talked to guys on the team about it, talked to the leaders about it. They know my heart. They know that the intent was right.”
He wanted to make sure his teammates understood that the goal was unity and responsibility, not blame or division.
