Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz likes to bring his entire family to his games, and that includes former USWNT soccer star Julie Ertz, his wife and the mother of his children. The former soccer star traveled with the team ahead of the showdown between the Commanders and the LA Chargers, and this has led to a wholesome moment:

Ertz, who was sporting a black tank top with pants themed around her husband, was seen carrying around their kids and letting them hang around their father. They then went to the family suite as they awaited the game.
The couple met from way back in 2013 and are still going strong, with Zach proposing in 2016 and getting married a year later, in March 2017. They did not expect their first child until five years into their marriage. They have three children together, all of whom are boys, with Madden, Kace and Kyren.
Julie played soccer for Santa Clara in college from 2010-2013, before playing professionally in 2014 for the Chicago Red Stars. She would also help the United States win the 2015 and 2019 Women’s World Cup. In addition, she was also awarded US Soccer’s Female Player of the Year award in 2019 after helping lead US Soccer to World Cup glory and is considered one of the greats of women’s soccer.
As for the game itself, it is expected to kickoff from So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles at 4:25 PM EST. It will be aired live on FOX and will also be streamed live via NFL+. Ertz and the Commanders are currently 2-2 and need another victory, while the 3-1 LA Chargers are seeking a win at home.
Zach Ertz’s Wife Julie Still Competed in the World Cup Even After Giving Birth
As for her soccer career, she played until 2023 and was part of the USWNT during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. This was after she gave birth to their eldest child, Madden, in 2022.
She missed plenty of games due to pregnancy, but that still did not stop her from being named to the National Team. Meanwhile, Zach Ertz wrote a message ahead of her 2023 World Cup campaign:
“Julie, here we go, World Cup number 3,” he wrote. “Less than a year ago, you gave birth to the biggest blessing in our lives, Madden, and watching you become a mom has been one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced in our time together. We love you so much and cannot wait to support you on this journey for a fifth star.”
That World Cup, which was held in Australia and New Zealand, ended the US streak of world titles, with the Americans failing to even get a podium finish, with Spain ultimately winning it all.
