Will Kyle Pitts Play This Week? Latest Injury Update and Fantasy Football Outlook on Falcons TE Ahead of Week 9

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts is playing on the final year of his rookie contract, and he’s looking to make the most out of this season.

Pitts was drafted fourth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, and after putting on a 1,000-yard receiving rookie season, he hasn’t lived up to his hype of being selected that early. Still, Atlanta thought enough of him to pick up his fifth-year option prior to the 2024 NFL season.

Luckily for Pitts, he’s been active for every game this season, and so far, is having a solid year.

    What Happened to Kyle Pitts?

Yesterday, Kyle Pitts appeared on the Atlanta Falcons’ Wednesday injury report. This was the first time this week that Pitts landed on the report, as there was no news of him suffering any injuries after last week’s game.

Pitts was a limited participant in the team’s Wednesday practice due to an ankle injury.

Pitts appeared on the Falcons’ injury report in late September as he was dealing with a minor toe injury. That injury never forced him to miss time.

Is Kyle Pitts Playing In Week 9?

It’s not clear or 100% that Kyle Pitts will play this Sunday against the New England Patriots. His status the next few days in practice should give a clearer sign of his status for this weekend’s game.

As of right now, his injury seems minor, and it seems likely that he suits up this weekend.

    Kyle Pitts Fantasy Outlook

Kyle Pitts is having a solid season. He isn’t putting up the most eye-popping numbers, but he’s been consistent and a reliable pass-catching option for Atlanta.

In seven games played, Pitts has 39 receptions for 344 yards and one receiving touchdown. He is only averaging 8.8 yards per catch, but he is projected to surpass 90 receptions this season. Pitts has been a favorite target of Kirk Cousins, who filled in for backup Michael Penix Jr. last week, as Cousins targeted him 10 times.

In the last two weeks, Pitts has been targeted 19 times. He seems to be a solid option in fantasy for the remainder of the season.
