It’s Thursday! Week 15 is here, and another round of football starts for NFL fans everywhere. This week, the Thursday night slate will have a focal point heading into the game. Kyle Pitts. The young tight end is questionable for Thursday’s game. Will he play for a struggling Falcons squad? Let’s find out.
Kyle Pitts Injury Update
Pitts has been on the injury report all week due to his knee. This week, he was limited in every single practice the Falcons have had. He was able to participate in all three practices, which could be a more positive sign for Pitts.
Is Kyle Pitts Playing Today vs. the Buccaneers?
It’s unknown whether Pitts will be on the gridiron today. Atlanta will likely want him if they can play him. The Falcons are down with injuries, with Drake London and Michael Penix Jr. both being out. Their chance of winning could potentially hang in the balance. Who else is going to be able to grab some catches down the stretch? With three practices under his belt, it would be more likely than not that Pitts is able to give it a go. For now, he remains questionable and likely a game-time decision.
Kyle Pitts Fantasy Outlook
Kirk Cousins will be the biggest factor from a fantasy perspective. Pitts has been with Cousins for the last two weeks and is averaging over 15 fantasy points during those games. There is a lot of buzz about how Cousins has played in prime time in the past. For now, owners should look past it, but it is definitely something to consider.
The Bucs, meanwhile, are pretty good against TEs this year. Without London, though, Pitts is an easy start as long as he is playing. There simply isn’t another option that can match Pitts’s output. If the Falcons want to be competitive against the Bucs, Pitts will likely have to be able to play in the game
Bottom Line
While Pitts could miss this game, the Falcons should be doing everything they can to get him on the field. There are too many injuries on offense for Atlanta to simply sit Pitts out. Time will only tell if Pitts will be able to play. For now, fantasy owners and fans will both have to wait.
