Jayden Daniels Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Commanders QB Status Ahead of Week 15

It’s been a rather disappointing season for Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels, who was named the 2024-2025 Offensive rookie of the Year shone last year and brought the Commanders to the NFC Championship with an improbable run. Through 13 games, the Commanders have a 3-10 record with Daniels missing about half the season with multiple injuries.

Daniels most recently suffered an injury in the Commanders’ Week 14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

    What Happened to Jayden Daniels?

During the Washington Commanders’ Week 14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Jayden Daniels re-injured his left elbow, the same one that he dislocated against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.

Daniels was pushed to the ground by a Vikings defender after throwing an interception and landed hard on his elbow.

Is Jayden Daniels Playing Week 15?

As of Tuesday, Jayden Daniels’ status for Week 15 is up in the air. Per head coach Dan Quinn, Daniels is dealing with elbow soreness in the elbow that he recently dislocated but said it isn’t a long-term injury.

Even if healthy, Daniels could be kept out due to precautionary reasons.

    Jayden Daniels Fantasy Outlook

Jayden Daniels hasn’t had the productive season in his second season that he was hoping for. In seven games played, Daniels has completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 1,262 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions.

In his most recent game against the Vikings on Sunday, Daniels completed 9-of-20 passes for 78 yards and an interception. Even if he is active this Sunday, benching him would be the safer move.

Fantasy Replacements If Jayden Daniels Misses Week 15

If Jayden Daniels is a no-go for Week 15 against the New York Giants, there are a few solid options on the waiver wire to fill in for his void.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has scored 17+ fantasy points in each of his last three games. Starting Daniels’ backup, Marcus Mariota could be a solid option if he is the one under center against a struggling New York Giants team.

*Waiver wire replacements are players who are rostered in 60% or less in Sleeper leagues.*
