The New York Jets have already played two games without star wide receiver Garrett Wilson this season. He had missed the previous two games for the Jets before returning on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. However, he exited the game with a knee injury. Now, his status ahead of Thursday’s game against New England is in doubt.
What Happened to Garrett Wilson?
Garrett Wilson suffered a knee sprain in the second half of the Jets’ win over the Browns on Sunday. The injury occurred during a play in which he was targeted by quarterback Justin Fields. He was unable to make the overthrown catch and went sliding to the ground. When he got up, he walked slowly to the sideline and was labeled as questionable to return. He did not return for the rest of the game.
Is Garrett Wilson Playing Today vs. Patriots?
No, Garrett Wilson will not play against the Patriots. According to a report from insider Rich Cimini, Wilson is expected to miss three to four weeks with a knee sprain. However, he will not require surgery.
“Bad news for the Jets offense: WR Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain, source says. Good news is no surgery, just rehab.”

Garrett Wilson Fantasy Outlook
The fantasy outlook for Garrett Wilson is not good for the rest of the season. He is a good option when healthy, but injuries have severely impacted his season. There is no guarantee that he will be at his best when he returns, and even if he does, it will be towards the end of the season, limiting the value fantasy owners can get out of him.
Fantasy Replacements for Garrett Wilson This Week
If you are looking for a wide receiver replacement, you should not have too much trouble finding options on the waiver wire. We are fans of Tez Johnson on the Buccaneers. We also like Troy Franklin on the Broncos. Tre Tucker on the Raiders is also an interesting option, going up against a weak Dallas defense.
