It’s Championship week. If you have made it this far in fantasy, congratulations. There is only one game left. Once again, roster management will be everything in this last game. If a player could not play, it might not be worth the risk. This week, Davante Adams could be one of those players. The Rams’ wide receiver got hurt in Week 15 and hasn’t played since. So, will he play this week?
Davante Adams Week 17 Status
Adams is looking like he will not play this upcoming weekend. The hamstring injury held him out last week as well. Sean McVay had recently announced that he did not expect Adams to play this week. This will be a huge blow to fantasy owners, as it will be the second playoff game in a row that they haven’t had Adams.
One positive note for owners is that Adams wasn’t completely ruled out. McVay just said he didn’t expect him to play. The game is on Monday, which leaves a little more time before Adams can officially be ruled out of the game.
Will There Be Any Other Fantasy Impact?
While Adams is a huge blow to fantasy owners, there are some other things to look at. Last week, the Rams’ offense was just fine without Adams. They lost in a shootout against the Seattle Seahawks, but Matthew Stafford was still able to throw for over 400 yards in that game.
Puka Nacua will have all the attention on Monday. He was absolutely fantastic in the game against Seattle. If he is able to do that again, he might be able to win your fantasy matchup himself. The other player that should be fine without Adams is Matthew Stafford. He seemed to be able to find just about anyone against a Seattle defense that has been good this year.
Streamers for Adams?
If you don’t have anyone on your bench to replace Adams, then streaming might be an option. Although this late in the season, it is a toss-up. Xavier Smith seems to be the best option to pick up the slack. He was able to bring in both his targets against Seattle. Once again, the bench should be the best option if replacing Adams.
Bottom Line
Making adjustments to players missing time due to injury, like Adams, is a part of the game. If you have made it this far, that means you already won a game without him. Keep it sharp and focus on the task ahead. Good luck in the last week of fantasy football.
