Who’s Performing at Halftime for Lions vs Packers? Here’s What Fans Need To Know for the Thanksgiving Game

This Thursday’s Thanksgiving matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers at Ford Field features an exciting halftime entertainment experience. Grammy Award-winning singer Jack White will take the stage for this pivotal NFC North Rivalry as both teams are battling for playoff-contending positions.

The Lions revealed Jack White as their Halftime show performer on November 16. Jack grew up in Southwest Detroit and became famous as one-half of the minimalist rock band called The White Stripes.

Both teams are entering this game with a 7-6 record, and the Green Bay Packers defeated the Detroit Lions last year on Thanksgiving with a score of 29-22. The Packers also beat the Lions in Week 1 of this season, with a score of 27-13. The Lions will be attempting to get back at the Packers on their home field.

White also threw out a ceremonial first pitch for the Tigers at Comerica Park in 2014 and joined the broadcast booth during a game against Colorado last May.

    Who is Jack White?

Jack White started ‘The White Stripes’, with the band’s breakthrough coming with their third and fourth albums. Songs like “Seven Nation Army” became fan favorites in the 1990s through sporting events across Europe and college football stadiums throughout America.

Songs like “Fell in Love With a Girl,” while “We’re Going to Be Friends” is one of White’s best works to this day.

The White Stripes got critical acclaim and subsequently earned Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album twice, first for “Elephant” in 2004 and again for “Icky Thump” in 2008. His song “Elephant” alone has sold more than 2 million copies in the United States and while also earned double platinum certification.

After the White Stripes dissolved in 2011, he formed two other bands with fellow Detroit musicians. The Raconteurs, created with Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler, saw White join them after the White Stripes disbanded. The Raconteurs’ debut single, “Steady, As She Goes,” became a radio hit.

White’s solo career has been equally prolific. Six studio albums since 2012, and he has been dropping tracks even as recently as 2024 with the release of “No Name”. Earlier this month, White reached another milestone when The White Stripes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
