After much anticipation, Jerry Jones has made his trade deadline move for the Dallas Cowboys and acquired veteran linebacker Logan Wilson. This trade came after the Cowboys lost 17-27 to a depleted Arizona Cardinals team that raised questions on whether the team could still make the playoffs this year.
The trade deadline is now happening, which means that this may also be the last trade Dallas makes for the season, and they got him for a future sixth round pick.
A deal for Dallas: Cowboys are finalizing a trade to acquire Bengals MLB Logan Wilson, sources tell me and Todd Archer. Earlier Monday, Jerry Jones told Stephen A. Logan Wilson is seen to bolster the Cowboys’ line, but after much has been said and hype on what Jerry Jones’ decision would be, it left many fans unsatisfied, with many fuming on social media after the trade.
“lol dudes a 60 out of 80 on pff lol 😂 what a clown show and we’re 3 -5 and 1 who cares at this point.” said one disappointed fan.
“he hyped up a trade for a player that literally got benched 😭” another person pointed out.
“Wow. So now maybe they’ll give up only 42 points a game instead of their usual 45,” another person joked.
“So the cowboys go out and think “let’s go get someone from a historically terrible defense, that’ll make ours better”” pointed out one person.
“Jerry Jones really said “we don’t rebuild, we reload.” Trading for Logan Wilson is peak Cowboys, splashy, aggressive, and just risky enough to blow up in spectacular fashion if it doesn’t work.” noted one commenter.
“Two of the worst defenses in the league exchanging pleasantries.,” commented one X user.
Logan Wilson Requested Trade Ahead of Trade With Jerry Jones And The Dallas Cowboys
The trade for a defensive player between two of the worst defenses in the league has certainly raised eyebrows, but Wilson has previously made it clear that he wanted out of Cincinnati after a diminished role with the team. He is currently out with a calf injury and missed that Week 9 loss against the Chicago Bears.
Despite the Bengals having a bad defensive season, Wilson has already recorded 46 tackles and four pass breakups, and the Cowboys are hoping he could improve their already-lagging defense, which is currently the 31st in the NFL in points allowed, 30th in passing yards allowed and 29th in rushing yards allowed.
