Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Tyler Warren had been practicing well with the team, but he surprised many when he suddenly appeared on the team’s injury report on Saturday, ahead of their Week 13 showdown against the Houston Texans. He was present during all previous team practices this week, so his sudden appearance in the injury report caused some concern.
Even though he is still a rookie, Tyler Warren has been seen as one of the Colts’ most important offensive pieces, having caught 18 passes on 24 targets over the last three games. His absence would be considered a major loss to the team, especially as they are aiming to make the playoffs.
What Happened To Tyler Warren?
The reason for his surprise appearance on the Colts injury report despite having no signs of injury is illness. What that illness is exactly has not been disclosed yet, though the rookie tight end was listed as “questionable” ahead of Sunday’s big showdown against the Texans.
Will Tyler Warren Play Week 13?
Because Warren’s illness has remained undisclosed, it is difficult to know if Warren would be healthy enough to play come Sunday. The severity of that illness is also not yet revealed, so this would likely be a gametime decision. This means that whether he will play on Sunday against the Texans is still up in the air. It may be likely that he even misses it, depending on how serious that illness is.
Tyler Warren Fantasy Outlook
So far, it is not looking good for Tyler Warren, though him getting sick ahead of the game against one of the best passing defenses in the league might be timely. A loss here for the Colts, however, might hamper their playoff attempt. For now, Fantasy managers better be ready to sit him out, but wait and see what might happen if the team lets him play.
Fantasy Replacements If Tyler Warren Misses This Week
Should Warren miss the Week 13 matchup against the Houston Texans, then Fantasy managers should be ready to head to the waiver wire and pick up a new tight end. Chicago’s Colston Loveland has been solid so far and may explode on Week 13, while Cleveland’s Harold Fannin Jr. may be a good pick as tight ends and wide receivers may be able to shine with Shedeur Sanders starting.
As for Tyler’s teammates at Indianapolis, whoever replaces him might have to take a backseat to the Jonathan Taylor show, as Indianapolis loves playing that rushing game a lot more these days, especially if their usual starter would be out.
