Should I Start Troy Franklin Or Darius Slayton In Week 10? Fantasy Matchups And WR Outlooks Explored

Troy Franklin has been an important part of the Denver Broncos’ offense in 2025, being the second-best receiver on the roster. He’s actually the most targeted receiver by quarterback Bo Nix, with 64 targets, to Courtland Sutton’s 62 (the team’s leading receiver).

Through 2025, Franklin has recorded 385 receiving yards, with four touchdowns (the same number as Sutton) in 37 catches. He’s averaging a very 10.4 yards per catch. Those are already career-high numbers for the sophomore wide receiver.

There’s undoubtedly a connection between Franklin and quarterback Bo Nix, which is not unexpected considering that both played together at Oregon for two years at the college level. With Nix as quarterback, the wide receiver put up great numbers in 2022 and 2023 (891 and 1383 yards, respectively). The 2024 season only showed flashes of the connection, but in 2025, they’re recovering some of the old Eugene chemistry.

On the other hand, you have Darius Slayton. Slayton has been a somewhat productive receiver in a mediocre New York Giants offense. He’s their third-most productive wide receiver with 254 receiving yards, in 19 catches, and with no touchdowns. He does have a higher yards per catch than Franklin, with 13.4. He has been targeted around 30 times.

Should I Start Troy Franklin Or Darius Slayton In Week 10?

The clear answer to this question seems to be Troy Franklin. The Broncos are playing one of the weakest teams in the league, as the Las Vegas Raiders come in with a record of 2-6. Their defense, while not as bad as their offense, is mediocre at best.

While the New York Giants are playing the better team, the Chicago Bears (5-3), they’re playing a better defense. However, we believe that New York has too poor an offense at the moment to bet on them at the moment.

On top of that, Bo Nix has proved to be a reliable NFL starter, and he tends to prefer connecting with Troy Franklin. This could be a huge game for the former Ducks star.

A couple of weeks ago, Franklin had his best game of this season so far, in the Monday Night Football victory over the Dallas Cowboys 44-24, with him recording 89 receiving yards and catching two touchdown passes. Last week against the Houston Texans, he had a quieter game, with 27 receiving yards. Hardly his fault, as Houston is the best defense in the league.
