Trey Hendrickson Trade Rumors: Bengals Star’s Status Raises Questions After Being Sidelined With Injury vs. Steelers

Trey Hendrickson missed the Cincinnati Bengals‘ big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a hip injury. As he continues to heal up, however, he is now being mentioned in various trade rumors, as the team may be sending him to another Pennsylvania team.

The Philadelphia Eagles may have come into the season looking like the favorites, they are the defending champions after all, but they have been struggling in the last few games. The team is looking for somebody to bolster both their offense and defense, and one name people have been talking about is Hendrickson himself, with many believing that the defensive end could help improve the birds’ struggling defense.

The November 4 trade deadline is already fast approaching, and the Eagles have a lot of targets that they could be going after, with Trey Hendrickson possibly being one of their top priorities. The team has been previously rumored to go after the defensive end during the offseason, with this being their second chance to land him.

Hendrickson injured his hip against the Green Bay Packers on Week 6 and pushed to practice with the team. In the end, he was forced to sit out, with his return for Week 8 still being unknown, especially with the ongoing trade rumors going about. He is a very attractive trade target for any team, with him having 17.5 sacks in the last two seasons, proving that he is an elite defender who loves going after opposing quarterbacks.

Several Teams Also In the Running For Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson

There was actually a contract dispute between the Cincinnati Bengals and Trey Hendrickson, and this resulted in a $14 million raise for the 2025 season. Despite this, the team may be aiming to trade him ahead of his free agency, with several teams already becoming potential landing spots.

One team that may land him is the Detroit Lions, which has been toying with the idea of teaming him up with Aidan Hutchinson, which could be an intimidating defensive combo. The thing is, the Lions actually have the cap space to pull this off.

Another potential landing spot would be the San Francisco 49ers, a team that is a little too banged up at the moment with a lot of injuries, and the team could use an edge like Hendrickson. The Cowboys could also be a good landing spot for him, especially as the team has not yet recovered from the Micah Parsons trade and need to bolster their defense a lot more.
