The Arizona Cardinals haven’t had luck this season at the running back position.
They lost staring running back James Conner and back up Trey Benson in back-to-back weeks in Weeks 3 and 4. Conner suffered a season-ending injury and in his first start a week later, Benson got hurt.
Let’s explore what happened to Benson.
What Happened to Trey Benson?
Trey Benson suffered a meniscus injury in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks. At the time, he was the starting running back after James Conner suffered a season-ending Achilles injury the week before.
Apparently Trey Benson missed the extra practice for Arizona and may have picked up an injury.
Here’s his last rush. Hard to see in the pile. The OL may have landed on his right ankle, & he did seem gimpy in his route next play. Didn’t play another snap.

Is Trey Benson Playing Week 13?
As of Wednesday afternoon, there hasn’t been an official word on whether or not Trey Benson will play this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Benson did log three limited practices last week after his three-week window from injured reserve opened up last week.

An additional report from Theo Mackie stated that Benson did not look comfortable at practice and that head coach Jonathan Gannon did not have an update on his status today.
Trey Benson Fantasy Outlook
Trey Benson has had a small sample size for his fantasy football production this season. He’s only played in four games and started in one, the game that he suffered his injury in. Surprisingly, he had his most productive game in Week 1, rushing for 69 yards on just eight carries.
Best Fantasy Replacements If Trey Benson Misses This Week
If you need to replace Trey Benson in fantasy this week, chances are you having a troubling week. If you need to replace him, some solid options include Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal, Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason, and New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis.
