Travis Kelce Delivers Honest Assessment on Chiefs’ Performance Despite Big Win vs. Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce offered his honest perspective on the team’s 31-0 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs held Raiders to just 95 total yards, including 70 passing yards.

On Tuesday, the tight end appeared on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast alongside his brother Jason Kelce. Despite the win, Kelce highlighted that it’s important to keep getting better and stay healthy with each game.

“I mean, there are negative plays in every game, and as you know, you always have to find ways to get better. But I think the biggest thing is just getting healthy,” Kelce said.

The Chiefs tight end mentioned injuries sustained by his teammates during the game.

“I had my guy Trey Smith go down and a few guys get banged up, get rolled up on,” Kelce said. “I know Karim’s [Jackson] ankle isn’t feeling too good today—ankle and knee aren’t feeling too good today because he got rolled up on on Rashee’s first touchdown.”

Travis Kelce also shared his thoughts on why the Chiefs are able to get positive results and the hard work that goes into it during the days leading up to the game.

“But I feel like we just keep taking this momentum from how we’re working throughout the week, and that’s where it’s really paying off,” Kelce added. “Guys are busting their a** throughout the week and detailing their work so that we’re ready. We’re ready for that ball to be out quick. We’re ready to attack a defense a certain way. And we’re getting after it in the run game, man. That sets up everything and makes the job on the offensive line so much easier when you’re finding ways to get five to six yards every pop.”

Travis Kelce Led All Receivers During Chiefs’ Blowout Win

Travis Kelce made his longest play of the season against the Raiders last week. He received a 44-yard catch from Patrick Mahomes. Overall, he finished the game with three receptions for 54 yards, the most by a Chiefs receiver in the game.

Rashee Rice caught the most receptions in the game, 7 for 42 yards. Brashard Smith also caught for 42 yards on five receptions.

After the Chiefs improved to 4-3, the team is looking forward to high profile games like the Washington Commanders and the Buffalo Bills. Kelce will be a central component on Chiefs offense.
