The Jacksonville Jaguars found a two-way star in wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter, trading up to pick No. 2 in the 2025 NFL Draft to draft him.
Coming out of college, Hunter was the 2024 Heisman after being an effective two-way starter on offense and defense. Many wondered how his game would translate to the NFL, but so far, he’s been a good player on both sides of the ball for the Jaguars.
As the Jaguars return from their Week 8 bye, some concerning new popped in the last 24 hours regarding Hunter and his health.
What Happened to Travis Hunter?
Concerning news grew our of Jacksonville yesterday as reports surfaced that Travis Hunter suffered a knee injury in practice. The injury was non-contact, and per Harvey head coach Liam Coen announced Friday that Hunter will be placed on injured reserve.

Is Travis Hunter Playing In Week 9?
No, Travis Hunter will not be playing in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Since the Jaguars placed Hunter on IR, he will be required to miss a minimum of four games which begins this Sunday against the Raiders. Hunter is eligible to return on November 30 in Week 14, against the Tennessee Titans.
Travis Hunter Fantasy Outlook
As the season has gone on, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been figuring out how to split Travis Hunter’s usage. They had plans to get him more involved on offense returning from their bye, but that will have to wait as he is now out for some time.
In the Jaguars’ most recent game, Hunter had career-highs across the board in targets (14), receptions (8), receiving yards (101), and scored his first touchdown. It’s clear the Jaguars were looking to get him more involved on offense.
On the season, Hunter has 28 catches for 298 yards and a receiving touchdown played in seven games. Fantasy owners could be frustrated as Hunter could have been in line for a big game this weekend.
