Top 3 WR vs. CB Matchups for Week 17: Fantasy Football Start ’Em, Sit ’Em Guide

Fantasy Football is hitting its final week in many leagues. If you have reached this far, congratulations. However, in video game terms, you are set to battle the boss fight of the game. It will take you more research than usual if you want to go out on top.

Luckily, College Sports Network is digging deeper than anyone to give you three wide receiver-cornerback matchups you can believe in this week. Take a look.

Top Three WR vs. CB Fantasy Football Matchups You Can Trust

    Puka Nacua vs A.J. Terrell

Puka Nacua is having one of the top two most productive receiving seasons in the NFL. In Week 17, he will face one of the least reliable cornerbacks in the form of A.J. Terrell. Terrell ranks 93rd out of the 112 cornerbacks in PFF grading.

With Los Angeles now backed into a corner thanks to the team’s loss to Seattle, expect Sean McVay not to let up, which means he will target Nacua every time he can, even if the team is up big. The Super Bowl is potentially on the line with the number one seed in play, and McVay won’t worry about hurting feelings.

    Stefon Diggs vs Qwan’tez Stiggers

With Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams gone, the New York Jets are clearly in the middle of a pivot to a different strategy. However, in the meantime, it leaves Qwan’tez Stiggers to compete with arguably the most accomplished receiver in the AFC East in recent history.

Stiggers has not played much this season, getting on the field for just 197 snaps in 2025. What has been put on tape has been less than impressive. Chris Olave, Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., and Jaylen Waddle, among others, have taken their turn pummeling the Jets’ secondary. Diggs is the next in line.

    Ja’Marr Chase vs Max Melton

Ja’Marr Chase has had to make do without Joe Burrow for much of the 2025 season, but arguably the most effective WR-QB duo in the NFL is back and humming to the detriment of the Arizona Cardinals. Specifically, the assignment falls on Max Melton, who ranks 109 of 112 CBs by PFF metrics.

Melton is likely to get help from the rest of the secondary to help contain Chase, but it likely won’t be enough. Expect Chase to have his way in the majority of one-on-one matchups and enough to continue his run of 100-yard games in three of his last four contests.
