One day after the New York Giants suffered a disappointing 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears in week 10, the franchise announced it would fire head coach Brian Daboll, as they stand at an overall record of 2-8 so far in the 2025 season.
Daboll’s tenure with the Giants is ending with a record of 20-40-1 after nearly four years he spent with the franchise.

Insider Opens Up About Brian Daboll’s Delayed Firing
Giants insider Shaun Morash revealed on Nov. 6th that John Mara was ready to pull the trigger on head coach Brian Daboll.
Morash said on the “Talking Giants” podcast on Friday that the Giants were firing Daboll off the plane after the franchise faced the disappointing 33-32 loss against the Denver Broncos.
However, once the whole ownership got together, the moment cooled off, and they decided not to fire Daboll after flying back from Denver.
Morash continued and said that Daboll was as good as gone two weeks ago, if somebody didn’t step up to make a case for him to stay.
“In the immediacy of that collapse, the decision to throw on third-and-5, like (co-host) Tiki (Barber) had crushed after that game, apparently that was enough from people of importance with the Giants that he was fired off the plane in Denver and cooler heads have prevailed, which has now led to stories about the split ticket.’
Daboll earned himself one playoff win during his time with the Giants along with one Coach of the Year award in 2022.
