NFL Playoff 2026 Brackets: Top 3 Teams That Will Spoilers Heading Into Wildcard Weekend Ft. Jaguars

The NFL playoffs are here with Wildcard Weekend taking place this weekend!

The 2025-2026 NFL regular season concluded yesterday and the playoff field in both conferences are set. There will be a triple-header of games on Saturday and a double-header on Sunday with the divisional round concluding with a Monday Night Football showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans.

With the playoffs comes exciting games, dramatic finishes, teams getting closer to their ultimate season goals, and some upsets.

With the matchups and games set for wildcard weekend, let’s explore three teams that could upset their opponents and move on to the divisional round of the playoffs. (*Upsets considered are teams that are currently underdogs heading into their wildcard matchup.*)

Top Three Teams That Could Play Spoiler During Wildcard Weekend

    -San Francisco 49ers

The No. 6 seed San Francisco 49ers (12-5) will play on the road this Sunday against the No. 3 Philadelphia Eagles (11-6.) Despite having a better record and playing a tougher schedule, San Fran enters as 4.5-point underdogs. The 49ers were on a six-game win streak prior to its regular season finale loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, Philly has lost four of its last seven games.

    -Jacksonville Jaguars

After handling the Tennessee Titans 41-7 in its regular season finale, the Jacksonville Jaguars earned the third seed and will host the No. 6 Buffalo Bills. Even riding an eight game win streak and with Trevor Lawrence playing like an MVP-like candidate, the Jaguars are currently 1.5 points underdogs.

Even ESPN’s matchup predictor currently has more people going with the Jaguars to win (51.2%.) Most would also agree that this year’s Bills’ team is arguable the playoff team Josh Allen has been a part of.

    -Pittsburgh Steelers

The only other team hotter than the Jacksonville Jaguars right now is the Houston Texans, who enter the postseason on a nine game win streak. The Texans are currently 2.5-point road favorites to beat the No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh has a few advantages: being the home team and playing on Monday night. In his career, Mike Tomlin has a 20-3 Monday night record including a 10-0 record at home. History says Pittsburgh should win on Monday night, but they’ll have to get over the daunting task of the league’s best defense.
