Terry McLaurin Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Commanders WR Ahead of Week 8

For several weeks now, the Washington Commanders have been playing without their top two wide receivers in Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel. When McLaurin got injured, it was Samuel who stepped up, but when he got injured, the Commanders’ passing game suffered a big hit.

During his appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio with Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn gave some updates on the situation for both wide receivers, and it is a positive one, especially as they are taking on the resurgent Kansas City Chiefs next on Week 8 for Monday Night Football. So, with Terry McLaurin be able to play on Week 8?

    What Happened to Terry McLaurin?

McLaurin has been dealing with a quad injury he suffered when the team took on the Las Vegas Raiders, and he has not played since. So far this season, the star wide receiver has caught 10 passes for 149 receiving yards, but has not yet made a single touchdown as he has been missing action since Week 3.

Is Terry McLaurin Playing Week 8?

While Quinn has expressed positivity regarding McLaurin’s return, it should be noted that his return during Week 8 is only a possibility, as the team is still waiting to see if the wide receiver could be medically cleared to play.

The team has a very tough challenge ahead, as the game will happen at Arrowhead, the Chiefs’ own home turf, and the return of one of their best wide receivers would be a big boon, especially as quarterback Jayden Daniels is not expected to play because he himself in injured. For now, though, the wide receiver’s return is questionable, but updates are expected as Monday’s showdown nears.

    Terry McLaurin Fantasy Outlook

With the Commanders currently tracking McLaurin’s recovery in time for Week 8, Fantasy managers should caution themselves in starting or picking him up as there is a possibility he might not play, even with the team currently being optimistic about his status.

For now, the wide receiver needs to show some good production in his practices before he is able to play, so managers need to be very careful. He is expected to practice fully, but that in itself is no guarantee of his return, so it should still be safe to sit him out.
