“White Democrats Are Afraid Of Being Called Racist”: Stephen A. Smith Touted As Must-Need Candidate To Face Donald Trump In 2028 Elections By Bill Maher

Media personality Bill Maher recently dropped a bombshell on his show, advocating for Stephen A. Smith to run for president in 2028 as a Democrat.

During a recent episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the host stated that he believes America has entered a “post-politician era” and pointed to Smith’s authenticity and fearlessness as qualities that could resonate with voters.

“I think we’re post-politician era. I actually think Stephen A. Smith is kind of realistic … I think the Democrats need somebody who doesn’t give a sh*t — and that’s him”, Maher began on his show (0:00).

Maher’s argument for the Democrats potentially fielding a Black candidate in the 2028 elections stems from the fact that white Democrats are fearful of appearing racist, which, according to Maher, is part of the reason for America’s border issues.

“It is good to have, in the Democratic Party, a black person … the white Democrats are very afraid of being called racist. That’s why we wound up with open borders and stuff like that”, Maher stated (0:32).

Maher further argued that Smith won’t hesitate to call out and challenge his own party without worrying about backlash, a characteristic that some Democratic candidates lack. This quality of Smith is something Maher thinks is the need of the hour.

“Stephen A. Smith can go, ‘Have you all lost your godd*mn mind!?’ in a way that Pritzker cannot … He’s willing to call Democrats on their sh*t too — and we need that”, he further elaborated (1:07).

These talks around Smith’s potential entry into politics come after he launched his latest political show, “Straight Shooter with Stephen A”, on SiriusXM on 17th Sept. The renowned sports presenter is often seen covering and talking about the recent political developments pertaining to the US on his show.

Trump Hints At Possible Third Term Despite Constitutional Limits

Although the 22nd Amendment of the US Constitution only allows a president to serve a total of two terms over a span of 8 years, US President Donald Trump has been actively promoting his potential third term with “Trump 2028” caps, stating how he would “love to do it”.

A supposed loophole could potentially help Trump contest the 2028 elections, and if that does happen, it will be interesting to see if Smith will face him as a potential candidate.
