Bills’ Spencer Brown Bluntly Calls Out Eagles Star Jalen Carter “Dirty Player” Over On-Field Slap During Week 17 Game

Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles brought an incident between Spencer Brown and Jalen Carter. At a point in the game, the Eagles’ defensive tackle took a swipe at the eyes of the Bills’ offensive tackle. While reports are that there was no significant damage, Brown himself admitted that his vision was hazy after the play and that he needed to visit a doctor to get checked out.

While reports have pointed out how this was a low move by Carter, with some calling him a ‘Dirty player’, the Buffalo Bills player limited himself to describing the events in the aftermath of the game. At one point, he said that the Eagles player:

“Took a strong right hook to the eye ball.”

When asked what he thought of the play, he just said:

“No, I don’t think so, but it was coming, I guess.”

In the end, the Eagles defeated the Bills by just one point, 13-12. While Buffalo’s Josh Allen was the game’s top passer, with 262 yards and a completion percentage of 65.7%, he didn’t score one single touchdown pass. He did contribute two rushing touchdowns. More worrisomely, he was sacked five times.

For comparison, Jalen Hurts threw for just 110 passing yards, with one touchdown pass. While he only took one sack, his completion percentage was a low 48.1%.

Nick Sirianni  on the Philadelphia Eagles’ Victory

The most surprising fact of the game is that up until the fourth quarter, the Eagles were holding to a 13-0 lead, which they almost blew out. Despite almost faltering at the last minute, head coach Nick Sirianni was happy to add the game to the win column:

“Winning’s hard in this league, and I’m always going to enjoy a win,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said after his team nearly squandered a 13-0 fourth-quarter lead.

“If you come out of this and you’re just thinking about all the negative things that happened, then it’s just a miserable existence,” Sirianni added.

Regardless of both teams’ mishaps, they’re already in the postseason, and certainly, their minds are mainly on January already. The Bills will have to go to the Wild Card round, while the Eagles are a division champion and will advance directly to the Divisional Round.
