The 5-10 New Orleans Saints play on the road today against the 3-12 Tennessee Titans.
One interesting player from this game in fantasy football is Saints’ TE/ATH, Taysom Hill. Hill is the definition of a swiss army knife- proving to be one of the most versatile offensive players in NFL history.
Hill has played a lot of snaps at quarterback, tight end, running back, and occasionally has lined up as a receiver at times. Hill hasn’t been as productive this season, but there’s reason to start him today in fantasy.
Should I Start Taysom Hill Today?
Yes, the gamble is worth the risk to start Taysom Hill today. While Hill hasn’t had his most productive season this year, he likely played his last home game in New Orleans last week, and the Saints featured him more than any other game this season last Sunday.
Hill had 12 carries, threw a pass, and had six targets as a receiver. The Saints, who are evaluating young talent in the last few games, know what Hill has to offer and for his efforts the last nine years, might put him all over the field and let him have fun.
Tennessee also has one of the worst defenses. The Titans allow the seventh most points per game, rank 21st in total yards allowed, and allow 222.9 passing yards per game.
Taysom Hill Got Emotional Talking About Last Potential Home Game in NOLA
Everyone, including Taysom Hill himself knows that last Sunday’s game against the New York Jets could be his last game played at home as a member of the New Orleans Saints.
Hill said heading into last week’s game:
“My wife asked me that this morning,” Hill said, via CBS Sports, “And I didn’t really feel any type of way this morning, but as I was driving to the stadium today, you start to think about the last nine years, and what it’s meant to me and my family and this city. I think for me personally you just try to take it all in. I’ve had a great experience here tonight. I don’t know what the future holds for me but it was a special day for me and my family.”
Hill was undrafted but was signed by the Saints via waivers prior to the 2017 season. He has thrown for 2,426 yards, 12 touchdowns, rushed for 2,551 yards and 34 rushing touchdowns, and has caught 107 passes for 1,002 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns.
